Age Limit (as on 01-01-2014): General category candidates should not have age less than 18 years and not more than 40 years. The relaxation in upper age limit shall be given as per rules & regulations.
Qualification(s): In order to be qualified for this Sarkari Naukri, candidate should have Pass in Madhyamik (10th) Examination and able to read, write and speak in Bengali / Nepali languages.
Pay and Perks: Successful candidates shall be appointed in pay band – 2 Rs 5400-25200 + Grade Pay Rs 2600/-. Initial Pay will be Rs. 6240/-. Other usual perks shall also be payable as per rules of West Bengal Govt.

(A) ONLINE APPLICATION SUBMISSION (at Home/PC/Cyber Cafe)

By choosing Online mode of application, be ready to submit your basic information including scanned images of your photograph and signature. Payment of Examination fees and Processing fees can also be made online through payment gateway using Debit Cards / Credits Cards / Net banking of any bank. On successful submission of the application an auto generated receipt with Registration Number will be generated. You are advised to take printout of the same to keep it safe for future reference.
(B) ONLINE APPLICATION SUBMISSION (by Tathya Mitra Kendras)
To submit your application through Online mode using Tathya Mitra Kendras of West Bengal Govt, please approach any of the Tathya Mitra Kendras (List of Tathya Mitra Kendras is available here). Bring all particulars and a passport size photograph of yours to Tathya Mitra Kendras. Application fee shall be remit at the same Kendra. (C) OFFLINE APPLICATION SUBMISSION
Applications can also be submitted using postal services of India Post. You can send dully filled-in paper application to WBSSC. Click Here For Prescribed Application Proforma and Various Appendixes. The fees can be paid at any post office of West Bengal. There are more than 700 posts offices at all over West Bengal having e-Payment facility. After payment of fee, you must have to collect your Fee Receipt by the post office counter to affix the same on application form. Paper applications along with all necessary enclosures must reach the office of the commission (either by post or by hand at Commission’s office). Application Charges: Applicants, who wish to apply for this Govt. Job, are have to pay the following amounts as application/examination and postal charges, as per their category;
• Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Persons with Disabilities: only processing fee i.e. Rs. 20/- only
• All Other Categories: Total Rs. 200/- only
Selection Methodology: The Selection will be made on the basis of Written Test followed by Personality Test to be conducted by WBSSC. Final Merit List will be prepared on the basis of aggregate marks obtained in Written Test and Personality Test (Interview). Written Examination shall be of maximum 100 marks having a maximum duration of 1.30 Hours (One and Half Hours). Examination will consist of only one paper based on following type of questions;
A. General Studies : 100 Questions, each carrying 0.5 mark
B. Arithmetic: 50 Questions, each carrying 1 mark
There will be negative mark of 0.25 per wrong answer for Arithmetic and 0.125 for General Studies.
